Hot Red Wedding Dresses

Passion, hot, love, romance; these are what we think of when the color red appears. A hot red wedding dress is spicy and sassy for the unconventional bride. Although, it's of note to mention that red wedding dresses aren't the traditions of the new modern bride. During the Revolutionary war, American women wore red as a symbol of freedom against the British. So if anyone asks you why you're wearing red, a great answer might be that you're giving memory to the women of the revolutionary war. And if you're interested in getting historical costumes like that, you can wear them as a dress too! But who needs an excuse? Just tell them you're wearing a red wedding gown because you like it!

If you're shopping for red wedding dresses there are numerous places that offer great opportunities. House of Brides, where I bought my gown, has many designer brands and so many styles it'll blow your mind. For more expensive designers, however, eBay is probably your best bet. They have some incredible deals on Vera Wang and other major designers. Amazon.com has a mixture of dresses that are really low priced, usually with free shipping. Often merchants put their sale dresses up on Amazon, including store like Target and Macy's.

Now you're off to buy your dress, but there are a few things to think about. Season, flattering fit, cost and length. You'll also consider if you'll be buying red bridesmaid dresses, and since the cost of the wedding will include red wedding flowers, red wedding invitations and red wedding cakes, you'll want to pick and choose which items will be red and which will be a secondary color. You don't want to overdo it =).

While winter and fall weddings can sport summer styles, you will be very uncomfortable at a summer ceremony wearing heavy winter dresses or styles. Etiquette used to dictate quite a bit about weddings, but it's just not so anymore. You might be cold, but other than that, dress how you want.

The same advice goes for flattering dress. Wear what you want, but remember a few things. If you're bigger below, ruffles, and layering are just going to make it all appear bigger. Need to play down your chest? (wish I had that problem) Avoid ruffles on top and scooped necks. Almost any gal will look great in an empire waist dress. A line red wedding gowns are another style that works for just about any figure. The truth is if you're comfortable and confident you can wear any dress with class.

The length is another area where confidence and comfortableness matter more than cut. Walk with confidence and you can pull off the tiniest of dresses. If you got it, flaunt it.

Now for me, cost wasn't a factor. I sacrificed a lot of things to have the dress that I wanted, but not a lot of couples are willing to go into debt for a dress. I can certainly understand that, and the months after the wedding, I could understand it with every withdrawal on our checking account =P. Although, in all honesty, there are such beautiful red wedding dresses that spending $5,000 on a Vera Wang may be unnecessary. I want you to remember that there is nothing wrong with spending less or more. It's all about you on this day. After all you won't have another one (if you're lucky).
